The main purpose of the trial lesson is to give you a taste of what it's like to learn vocals online. You will be able to test your expectations for free and see if it is what you imagined.

The trial lesson is not like our regular lessons, it lasts 30 minutes, which is much shorter than usual, and the teacher will not yet have an idea of your skill level to prepare personalized materials for you.

Nevertheless, you will learn a lot about vocal techniques, vocal anatomy, the basics of vocal breathing and much more. You will talk about your past vocal experiences, what you would like to get out of your training, experience our training materials and have the opportunity to ask questions. All of this will serve as a good foundation for your first regular lesson.

Regular lessons last 55 minutes (to give the teacher time to prepare for the next lesson). We take an individualized approach to each student, so the content of the lessons can be very varied depending on your goals and skill level.

However, here is what you can expect in the lessons:

Warming-up and exercises

Before you use your muscles and ligaments for vocals, it's imperative to warm them up to avoid injury. And exercise is the main way to make progress. We regularly create new exercises and warm-ups for different skills and post them in the Exercises section (favorite exercises you use regularly will be available directly from your Account Page). The teacher will select exercises and warm-ups for you, tell and show you how to use them correctly.

You will be able to develop your pitch, volume control, control of expressiveness and emotionality of sound, formation of sounds, modern vocal techniques and methods (chest voice, head voice, mix, belting, twang, cry, fry, rattle, falsetto, yodel, vibrato), ability to color the sound with your resonators, range, registers, ability to use different types of vocal attack, vocal agility, vocal breathing and vocal support , anchoring, articulation skills (literacy and clarity of pronunciation, correct speech accents, phrasing and expressiveness), musical ear, musical memory, improvisation and composition.

Song learning

In order to track your progress and practice, you will learn new songs on a regular basis. Depending on your preferences and goals, you and your teacher will select songs to learn. According to these selections, we prepare learning materials for the songs in the Songs section (the songs you have learned or are working on will be directly accessible from your Account Page).

Stage performance training

In addition to singing, there are a number of other skills in vocal performance. Confidence in front of an audience, microphone skills, acting, plasticity, gesticulation, facial expressions and many other things you can improve if your goals include not only singing beautifully, but also performing beautifully.

Theory

The teacher will explain to you in detail the anatomy and mechanics of vocals, music theory music literacy, differences in styles, genres, trends and more.

Preparing for a particular performance

The teacher can prepare you for a specific performance (concert, entrance exam) if you want.

For online vocal lessons you need any device (smartphone, tablet or computer) with internet access and a camera and a second device to play the instrumental.

If you use the same device for both purposes, the sound will be automatically muted and your voice will be muted as well.

Online classes have two big advantages over offline classes - comfort and cost.

Due to the fact that you do not have to specially get ready and get to the educational institution and then back, you spend much less time and money on lessons.

Among the significant disadvantages is only the impossibility of group lessons (choir).

You might think that the main problem with online vocal lessons is poor sound quality, but this is not the case. The usual uninterrupted connection and built-in microphones are enough for lessons, as in a regular video call.

Also different is the delay of sound between the participants of the call, which cannot be avoided even with the fastest internet. Because of this, you will not be able to sing at the same time or be accompanied by a teacher. That's why our methodology and our exercises are made specifically for online lessons.
